Founded by Joseph Carbone, the company originally started as a specialist in same-day automobile window glass installation. Over the decades, it evolved significantly; in the 1960s, it transitioned to focusing on plastic fabrication, becoming a significant figure in the local industry.
After Joseph retired, his son James A. "Jim" Carbone took the reins, propelling the company's expansion beyond Connecticut to include new locations in Rhode Island and Massachusetts. In 2011, following Jim's retirement, he and his son Robert reinvigorated the family legacy by establishing The Plastic Factory in its original Bridgeport location.
